Charlie started out riding as an amateur in point to points, riding 15 winners.

Charlie then turned conditional, riding 29 winners for some top yards - Martin Pipe, Nicky Henderson and Gary Moore for starters. 

​

"My first ever ride was for Chris Dwyer, I used to spend my summer holidays there when I was 14."

Charlie's first winner which he will always remember was on BETTER MOMENT for Martin Pipe on 13th February 2006,

"He was a brilliant trainer to ride for, his attention to every minute detail was amazing. He still texts me when I have a winner."

With training always in mind, Charlie finished race riding and started training in the beginning of 2015.

​

With his wife Hayley, Charlie has excelled at winning races with inexperienced horses.

​

Now in 2018, Charlie is in his best season so far with 18 winners already.

​

The yards best runners include LA FORTUNA who has won 8 times so far this year, SIR HECTOR, GEORGE DRYDEN and ZAC BROWN a seven-time winner for the yard.
